Julia Ostunio, AMFT, APCC

Biography

I obtained my Bachelor’s degree from Vanguard University and earned my Master’s degree from Azusa Pacific University. I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) with over 10 years of experience in human services. My background includes working in community-based and non-profit settings supporting individuals and families impacted by homelessness, domestic violence, and significant life stressors. Through these roles, I have developed a strong foundation in trauma-informed care and collaborative, multidisciplinary support.

It is a privilege to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve Hurtt Family Health Clinic clients as part of a compassionate and integrated care team.

Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy is grounded in trauma-informed, client-centered care that honors each individual’s and family’s lived experience, strengths, and goals. I incorporate evidence-based and relational approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), to support clients in developing insight, emotional regulation, and self-compassion. I believe healing occurs through collaboration and safety, and I work alongside clients to foster resilience, connection, and long-term stability.
