Kimberly Torres, ACSW

Biography:

I graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor’s in Political Science. With a key interest in the effect policies have on individuals and communities, I decided to pursue a career in Social Work. I obtained my Masters in Social Work with a specialization in Human Services Management at Azusa Pacific University. As an Associate Clinical Social Worker, I have conducted individual, family, couples and group therapy for children, adolescents and adults. I used evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems.

 

Practice Philosophy:

My social work practice is rooted in the belief that all persons deserve dignity, respect and the opportunity to prosper. I seek to empower individuals, families and community by recognizing their strengths and areas of growth and change. I operate on the foundation of empathy, social justice, cultural humility, and to advocate for marginalized populations. I used evidence-based practices that promote well-being and enhance social functioning. I aim to create meaningful and lasting impact on those I serve through compassionate care.
