Biography
I earned my bachelors in Human Development with a minor in Sociology from California State University Long Beach. I then went onto pursue my Masters of Social Work at California State University Fullerton with a concentration in community mental health. I have worked with individuals and couples with mild to moderate mental health conditions as well as clients suffering from substance use disorders and dual diagnosis disorders. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with clients through the Hurtt Family Health Clinic.
Practice Philosophy
I believe in meeting clients where they are at, and I utilize a strengths based approach. I feel clients are the experts of themselves and I view treatment as a collaboration between client and therapist. I utilize various approaches in my practice, tailored to the client’s specific needs. I rely heavily on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and psychodynamic approaches.
