Karina Arredondo, ASW

Biography

I was born in Orange County, California and received my bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Merced. Shortly after, I attended the University of Southern California for my master’s degree in social work with an emphasis in health.

My passion for healthcare began, at age 2, when my sibling was diagnosed with a severe disability. Living with someone with a severe disability allowed me to experience the roller coaster of emotions that follow illness and healthcare. Growing up as minority in low income neighborhoods, I was also able to become culturally competent and understand the impact of biopsychosocial disparities. As a result of my experiences, I gained empathy for helping people in need. I love to help make a positive impact on the lives of children and families by helping them through losses and difficulties in their lives.

Practice Philosophy

My practice philosophy abides by the belief and drive to challenge injustice surrounding the vulnerable and oppressed. I strive to improve the quality of life of children and families that I serve by following the social work oath and advocating for those who have trouble finding their voice
